History:

Founded by Ted Dellinger in May 1972, Dellinger Inc.’s humble beginning started in a trailer in Monroe, NC.  A General Contractor specializing in water and sewer line installations, the first project was completed in 1972 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The vision of Ted Dellinger was not to just build a successful business by meeting standards, but to become the standard by which construction companies would operate. Ted Dellinger retired from Dellinger Inc. in 2020 after 48 years of service.

Ted Dellinger Retired, Chad Walters took over Dellinger Inc.

Today

We are now licensed to work in North and South Carolina. With three operating divisions – Line Division, Plant Division and Highway Division. We also have a fully staffed office and an experienced shop of mechanics to service our growing inventory of equipment.

After Ted Dellinger retired in 2020 Chad Walters has taken his place as President of the company. The annual revenue is continuing to climb each year with a workforce, that has grown beyond 100 full time employees, we are confident that our future will remain bright.

Equipment:

In an effort to remain competitive in today’s market, Dellinger owns a fleet of modern equipment which is maintained by our staff of mechanics. Collectively our shop personnel have over 80 years of experience with the company.

Training:

To stay current with today’s regulations, Dellinger utilizes outside certification programs such as the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), OSHA 10 Hour Training, Trench Excavation, Confined Space, Scaffolding, Erosion Control and many others. 

Safety:

Dellinger Inc. is committed to safety. Every employee is required to adhere to a strict substance abuse policy with pre-hire random drug screening. We have an in-house safety inspection process and adhere to all OSHA and local laws.

This safety policy has paid off throughout the years by allowing us to keep a low EMR rating and a continued excellent relationship with our bonding and insurance providers.

Our Team:

Chad Walters
CEO

Chad Walters was employed by Dellinger, Inc. in 2005 as an assistant estimator in the Line Division. Since then he has served as Line Estimator, Project Manager, Division Head of the Highway Division and was named President in October 2016.

Dean Kite
President

Dean Kite has been with Dellinger Inc. since 2013. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Civil Engineering Technology with Construction Emphasis.

Julie Linn
CFO

Julie Linn is the Office Manager at Dellinger. She is a graduate of Wingate University in Business Administration. She has been employed with Dellinger Inc. since 1984.

Mike Edwards
Vice President - Construction Equipment

Mike Edwards has been with Dellinger Inc. since 1987. He is the shop manager of construction equipment.

Todd Price
Vice President - Line Division

Todd Price is a 1987 graduate of Fairmont State University. He majored in Civil Engineering. He has 30 years of experience in Site and Utility Construction. He has been with Dellinger Inc. since 2017.

David Grubbs
Vice President - Plant Division

David Grubbs has been with Dellinger Inc. since 1988. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, in Civil Engineering Technology.

Ronnie Melker
Vice President - Highway Division

Ronnie Melker is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University. He has 20 years of experience in heavy civil construction and delivered projects that range from 10 - 250 million dollars.
